HCA specialises in the development and provision of serviced disabled housing. This facility is being developed for the Uniting Church of Australia with their church building on the adjacent site. The facility will consist of four households over two floors, each accommodating two intellectually and physically disabled persons, with carer supervision provided to each floor. The building is designed in accordance with the accommodation standards of the Department of Human Services of Victoria, thereby ensuring the highest living standards to occupants. Much care is taken to prevent the clinical appearance usually associated with disabled housing, and the building is designed around a landscaped courtyard that radiates natural light into the interiors. The construction is tailored for the harsh weather conditions of Victoria, ensuring a comfortable and hardwearing building.
